Steel Prices in China
Long products
- Offers for China- origin actual weight rebar this week were about $510-515/metric ton CFR Hong Kong (with average freight rates at about $15/mt) compared to last week’s offers of $490-495/mt CFR – source: SBB
- In Singapore, offers for Chinese theoretical weight rebar rose by $5-10/mt to $490-500/mt CFR Singapore (freight averaging $20/mt and the theoretical weight volume tolerance at 3%) – source: SBB
Flat products
- Offers for Chinese SS400B 3mm and above HRC had gone up by $5-10/metric ton FOB from last week to $520-525/mt FOB – source: SBB

Scrap
- The Platts daily assessment for shredded scrap moved down $7.50/lt on Thursday to $395-405/lt delivered Midwest mill to reflect prices being paid late Thursday by a majority of Midwest mills – source: SBB
Semis
- A steel mill in Marmara was heard booking some billet at $515 per tonne cfr at the beginning of this week, and later offers from CIS suppliers stood at $520-525 per tonne cfr, a Turkish steel producer said – source: MB
Bar
- The price range for exports of Spanish, Portuguese and Italian rebar narrowed slightly this week to €435-440 ($600-607) per tonne fob main Southern European port, compared with €430-440 previously – source: MB
- Dragon Steel, the subsidiary company of Taiwan's China Steel Corp., has announced to leave its prices of billet, H-beam and narrow plate unchanged for April. The company's price for H-beam is at NT$24,150/ton, price of narrow plate at NT$25,500/ton and that of billet at NT$17,250/ton – source: Yieh

- Offer prices for exports of hot rolled coil (HRC) from India have increased by about $5 to $540-545 per tonne fob for May shipments – source: MB
