2014 SEAISI Traveling Seminar
The SEAISI Traveling seminar has been designed to enable South East Asian steelmakers learn from leading experts from world class steel companies, mainly from SEAISI's Supporting Member Countries.
This year, the theme of the seminar was " Improving Profitability in Steel Operation Through Lean Operation". Speakers were provided by OneSteel (Australia), POSCO (Korea), Feng Hsin Iron & Steel (Taiwan) and Kobe Steel (Japan).The papers presented in this Seminar were:
1. "Data Analytics for Improving Production Efficiency in Iron and Steel Making
Processes" by Dr Hiroshi Narazaki from Kobe Steel
2. "Energy Saving and Electric Power Cost Down in Feng Hsin" by Mr. Li-Cheng
Wang from Feng Hsin
3. "Identifying Root Cause to Solve Problems in Steel Mills Using Lean Problem
Solving Tools" by Mr. Phillip Grahame from OneSteel
4. "Quick Six Sigma (QSS) : Innovation for Global No.1 Steel Company" by
Mr. Jee Kyung Eun from POSCO.
The seminar was held consecutively on March 17th in Shah Alam (Malaysia), March 19th in Hanoi (Vietnam), March 21nd in Bangkok (Thailand), March 24th in Manila (Philippines) and March 26th in Cilegon (Indonesia) and was attended by a total of 222 participants.
