Steel Prices in China

 

-         On Beijing’s retail market on July 4, the spot price for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar sourced from Hebei Iron & Steel was assessed unchanged from Thursday at Yuan 3,130-3,140/metric ton ($504-506/mt) actual weight with 17% VAT – source: Platts

Scrap

-         Metal Bulletin's daily index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap delivered to Turkey closed at $360.08 per tonne cfr on Friday July 4, down $1.9 per tonne week-on-week – source: MB

-         Japanese traders were paying around Yen 32,500/metric ton ($318/mt) FAS at Tokyo Bay to collect H2 material for export, down from Yen 32,500-33,000/mt FAS the previous week – source: Platts

Semis

-         CIS-origin billet export price was $490-495 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday July 7, stable week-on-week – source: MB

-         One deal for Russian-origin billet for July rolling was heard at an equivalent of $494 per tonne fob Black Sea last week – source: MB

 

HRC/P

-         Turkish local producers continued to sell HRC at $580-590 per tonne ex-works for September production – source: MB
