Steel Prices in China
Long steel
- The
average price of 6.5mm Q235 high speed wire rod in China dropped by 7 yuan
per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,841 yuan per tonne on Monday
and that of 20mm HRB400 rebar declined by 10 yuan per tonne to 2,791 yuan

In Beijing’s dealer market, the daily spot price for 18-25mm
diameter HRB400 rebar dipped by Yuan 15/metric ton ($2/mt) on December 19, to
Yuan 2,560-2,570/mt ($412-413/mt) actual weight including 17% VAT. Last Friday’s
price marked a total price fall of Yuan 150/mt week-on-week. source:

- The average price of 2.75mm hot-rolled
coil in China dropped by 3 yuan per tonne from the
previous trading day to 3,190 yuan per tonne on Monday, and that of 1.0mm

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing cut its buying
prices by Yen 500-1,000/mt ($4.2-8.4/mt) for all grades at all works and scrap
yards effective December 20 arrivals. H2 buying prices at Tokyo Steel’s
Utsunomiya works in northern Kanto became Yen 27,000/mt ($227.5/mt). With the
latest price cut, Tokyo Steel’s total price reduction for this month hits Yen
