India’s steel import value amounted to US$630 million in November, dropping by 6.2% compared to the previous year.
During
the first eleven months of 2014, the country’s import values generated
by steel products totaled US$7.5 billion, decreasing by 15.6% from the
same period a year ago.
The country is expected to become the
world's second largest producer of crude steel in 2015-16, as it is
aiming to reach an annual capacity of 112.5 million tons.
