China
Long steel
· Prices of seamless pipes in grades of 20# 219x6mm (GB/T 8163) sourced from mills in eastern China were at Yuan 3,550/metric ton ($571/mt) including 17% VAT in Shanghai on January 5.source: Platts
· Prices of 20# 50-130mm round billet sourced from Zenith Steel Group and Changqiang Iron & Steel decreased Yuan 50/mt respectively to Yuan 3,050/mt and Yuan 2,950/mt ex-works including 17% VAT. On the same day, the price of similar rounds supplied by Huaigang Special Steel fell by Yuan 130/mt to Yuan 2,920/mt with VAT. source: Platts

· Platts assessed Q235 5.5mm HRC in Shanghai at Yuan 3,000-3,030/metric ton ($490-495/mt) including 17% VAT, down Yuan 10/mt from last Friday. Source: Platts
· The average price of 2.75mm hot-rolled coil and 1.0mm cold-rolled coil in China both edged down 4 yuan per tonne to 3,151 yuan per tonne and 3,863 yuan per tonne respectively on Tuesday.source: SteelHome

Scrap
· US market sources believed January scrap buy week prices will be $15-35/lt above December levels when they settle later this week - source: Platts

· Platts Black Sea billet assessment remained unchanged on day on Monday at $395/mt FOBBlack Sea- source: Platts
· CIS mills sold part of their February allocation at some $395-400/metric ton FOB Black Sea in the last two weeks. A source in Turkey confirmed having booked at $420/mt CIF Aliaga- source: Platts
· In northern Europe, the average of Platts FOB Black Sea export billet prices for last week decreased by $4/mt to $396/mt, and so the rebar-billet spread was unchanged at $103/mt.- source: Platts
Bar/ Wire rod
· Taiwan FengHsin’s price for standard 13mm diameter rebar has stayed at TWD 15,900/metric ton ($497/mt) ex-works Taichung in central-west Taiwan since December 29- source: Platts
· Posco does not officially announce its monthly sales prices for stainless coil, but according to Platts’ calculations, the steelmaker’s base price for grade 304 HRC remains at Won 3.6 million/mt ($3,407/mt), while that for 304 CRC stays at Won 3.87 million/mt.- source: Platts
