According to the data from Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel output increased by 0.1% or 70,000 tons to 110 million tons in 2014 compared to the previous year.
Among them, the LD converters produced 84.98 million tons, decreasing by 0.8%; the electric arc furnace markers produced 25.67 million tons, rising by 3.1%, both compared to the last year.
In December alone, the country's crude steel output dropped by 1.9% to 177,000 tons compared to the same month a year earlier.
