Steel Prices in China
Long steel
- Billet was trading in Tangshan at 2,060 yuan ($336) on Monday morning, unchanged since Friday. – source: Steel First
- Grade III 16-25mm rebar in Beijing was trading at 2,470-2,490 yuan ($402-406) per tonne on the morning of Monday March 23, up 120-160 yuan per tonne from last Friday's level. – source: Steel First
- Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group, ex-work prices for HRB400 rebar with diameters of 14mm-25mm are at RMB2,500/ton. In addition, ex-work prices for HPB400 grade wire rods will be RMB2,450/ton. - source: Yieh
- The average price of 6.5mm Q235 high speed wire rod increased 35 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,589 yuan per tonne and that of 20mm HRB400 rebar increased by 38 yuan per tonne at 2,562 yuan per tonne. – source: SteelHome

- Base export transaction prices for May-shipment commercial-grade, boron-containing HRC were at $365-370 per tonne fob on Monday March 23 – source: Steel First
- The average price of 2.75mm hot-rolled coil in China up by 15 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,694 yuan per tonne while that of 1.0mm cold-rolled coil moved down 7 yuan per tonne to 3,453 yuan per tonne. – source: SteelHome

Steel Prices in Other Countries
Scrap
- The Turkish scrap market was largely quiet last week, with prices moving down $1/mt to $255/mt CFR, according to Platts assessment of premium heavy melting scrap I/II (80:20) imports. US offers were still around $260/mt CFR or a few dollars higher by the end of the week, but mills were bidding at $250-255/mt CFR. - source: Platts

- Italian HRC mills are reported to be offering material at a minimum of €395-398/mt ex-works base, with other European-based mills still keeping offer levels for May shipments at €400-410/mt ex-works base. - source: Platts
