Long steel

• The average price of 6.5mm Q235 high speed wire rod increased 8 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,559 yuan per tonne and that of 20mm HRB400 rebar increased by 8 yuan per tonne to 2,481 yuan per tonne.  – source: SteelHome

 

• On Beijing's retail market on April 27, Platts assessed 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar unchanged from last Friday at Yuan 2,300-2,310/metric ton ($370-371/mt) ex-stock actual weight and including 17% VAT. – source: Platts

 

Flat steel

• The average price of 2.75mm hot-rolled coil in China increased by 15 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,668 yuan per tonne while that of 1.0mm cold-rolled coil down by 8 yuan per tonne to 3,281 yuan per tonne.  – source: SteelHome

 

• SteelHome daily price assessment of 8mm medium plate in China reached 2,871 yuan per tonne, up 2 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day. – source: SteelHome

• Commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm) in Shanghai was traded at 2,400-2,440 yuan ($392-399) per tonne, up 40-50 yuan ($7-8) per tonne from Steel First's assessment last Friday. In Beijing, the same product was traded at 2,450-2,470 yuan ($400-404) per tonne, 20-30 yuan ($3-5) per tonne higher over the same period. All prices are inclusive of VAT. – source: Steel First

Scrap

• Taiwanese import prices of 80:20 (in container) were unchanged week-on-week at $230/mt CFR Taiwan port last Friday  - source: The Steel Index

 

• Turkey, import; 22,500 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $275 per tonne and 2,500 tonnes of bonus at $285 per tonne cfr; April 24, from the Baltic Sea. - source: Steel First

 

 

Semis

• Steel First assessed billet prices in Southeast Asia at $375-385 per tonne cfr on Monday April 27, up $5 at the top end of the range from a week ago. - source: Steel First
  

• Platts assessed CIS billet at $372/metric ton FOB Black Sea Monday, a $2/mt increase over the previous Friday. - source: Platts

 

Bar/ Wire rod

• The southern European rebar reference price ex-works fell by €2/mt since a week earlier to €416/mt ($447/mt). The average of Platts FOB Black Sea export billet prices for last week increased by $4/mt to $370/mt, and the rebarbillet spread slipped by $2/mt to $77/mt. - source: Platts

 

• Taiwan Quintain Steel's list prices for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods are at NT$17,700/ton; those for blast furnace killed wire rods are at NT$16,700/ton. - source: Yieh

 

• Feng Hsin Iron & Steel Co., list prices for rebar are at NT$13,900/ton; those for section steel remained at NT$18,000/ton. - source: Yieh

 

• Kyoei Steel's new price for OD 16~25 mm SD 295 rebar will still stay at ￥59,000~60,000/ton.  The current rebar market price is about ￥58,000~59,000/ton in Tokyo. In fact, Japan's scrap price has reached the bottom. - source: Yieh

HRC/P

• Platts reduced its daily HRC and CRC ex-CIS price assessments by $5/mt on Monday to $348-352/mt and $433-437/mt respectively; both FOB Black Sea. - source: Platts

 

• Platts kept its assessment of northwest European hot rolled coil stable Monday at €407.50/metric ton ex-works Ruhr. - source: Platts

 

• Import prices for Russia-origin hot rolled coil (HRC) into India have fallen by about $20 per tonne to $375-380 per tonne cfr for June shipments, heard on Monday April 27. - source: Steel First
