China's alloy steel plates might have some technical problem in welding

China's government has announced to cancel the tax rebate on boron added steel plate. In order to get the tax rebate, most of Chinese mills have tried to add chromium or titanium into the carbon steel plates.

Those new alloy steel plate sources have been imported into Taiwan domestic market currently. Some buyers said they have some technical problem in welding when they try to weld alloy plate and standard ASTM A36 carbon steel plate together.

Users realized that when they try to weld alloy plate and A36 plate together, those two welded plates will rupture from welding line. However, it is no problem for them to weld two pieces of alloy steel plates together.

Therefore, users suggested that people do not use those alloy plates on some objects which may have safety concerned.
