Mitsubishi to build hot strip mill in India
It is reported that Mitsubishi Corporation and Larsen & Toubro have
reached an agreement with Steel Authority of India Limited on
construction of a hot strip mill with an annual production capacity of 3
million tons in India.
The US$400 million project is located in eastern state of Odisha, and it
will process steel slabs into hot rolled coils and the project will be
commissioned until the beginning of 2018.
In 2014, India’s crude steel production was at 90 million tons level,
and the country is aiming to enlarge its capacity to 300 million tons
per annul by 2025.
