Japan’s NSSMC Q2 crude steel output drops
Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC) released its financial result for the second quarter of this year.
The company produced around 10.89 million tons of crude steel, dropping
by 8.2% year on year. Meanwhile, the shipments of steel products totaled
9.85 million tons, down by 5.6% compared to the same period a year ago.
The average prices of steel products were at ¥82,800/ton (US$666/ton), reducing by 5.5% year on year.
