Brazil's Crude steel production will fall 1%, to reach 32.92 million tons in 2016
According to the Brazilian Steel Institute (IABr) announced, BRAZIL’S
crude steel production is expected to fall of 1% in 2016, to reach 32.92
million tons, compared to the same period of 2015.
Besides, IABr expects steel sales in the domestic market will drop 4.1%
year-on-year, to reach 17.418 million tons; as for the steel apparent
consumption will drop 8.8%, to reach 19.407 million tons in 2016.
However, the institute estimates that steel exports in 2016 will grow of
2.3%, totaling at 14.046 million tons, while steel imports will have
significant fall of 38% year on year.
