Korea steel demand this year is expected to slightly
According to Korea Iron and Steel Association (Kosa) predicted this year
that Korea steel consumption increased only by 0.5%, maintaining last
year's increase, reaching 56.1 million tons.
Only support demand growth in the construction sector, while others such
as cars and appliances will slow down, shipbuilding industry continues
to decline further this year.
This year Korea mills operating conditions do not improve, still
affected by the impact of the imports. In 2015, Korea imported 22.1
million tons of steel, down by 2.6% year on year.
Among them, Korea imported 13.7 million tons from China, accounted 62%
of the total exports; Japan was 6.6 million tons, accounted 29.9% of the
total exports, respectively.
