Steel price report as of June 2, 2011

Scrap

-          Scrap price in Spain rose slightly by Euro 10-15 per tonne. E40 (shredded) has been sold at Euro 313-315 ($451-454). HMS 1-2 sold at Euro 310 per tonne – source: SBB

Semis

-          CIS Billet export prices increased by $25 per tonne to $660-670 per tonne FOB Black Sea for the end of June production – source: MB

-          Billet price import price from Japan to Vietnam at $660 per tonne CFR for SS400 and SD295 per tonne – source: SBB

Bar

-          Rebar offer prices from Russia and Ukraine was at $700-710 per tonne FOB Black Sea for the end of June production – source: MB

Hot rolled coil prices

-          Chinese HRC offer prices reduced by $10-15 in the quiet market. Offers for commercial grades of boron-bearing HRC is $700-705 per tonne FOB – source: MB

-          Arcelor Mittal Dofasco raised price of HRC, CRC and coated sheet by $40 per tonne – source: MB
