• East China, domestic, grade III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,280-2,330 yuan ($341-349) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, grade III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,320-2,340 yuan ($347-350) per tonne, including VAT.– source: Steel First

• Prices for September shipments of 16-32mm chromium-added rebar were assessed at $335-340 per tonne fob on an actual weight basis on Wednesday July 27, up $5 per tonne from a week ago.  – source: Steel First

 

• Prices for September shipments of chromium-added mesh-quality wire rod were assessed by Steel First at $340-345 per tonne fob on Wednesday, up $5 per tonne on the week. – source: Steel First

  

Flat steel

• East China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 2,650-2,690 yuan ($397-403) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 2,600-2,630 yuan ($389-394) per tonne, including VAT. – source: Steel First

 

• Base export prices for September shipments of commercial-grade, chromium-added plate were assessed at $345-350 per tonne fob on Wednesday July 27, down $5 per tonne from Steel First's assessment last week. – source: Steel First

 

• Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3.0mm thick at $362-365/metric ton FOB China, implying a midpoint of $363.50/mt that was higher by $1/mt on day. In Shanghai’s dealer market on Wednesday, Q235 5.5mm HRC was assessed at Yuan 2,660-2670/mt ($399-400/mt) ex-stock with 17% VAT, up Yuan 35/mt from Tuesday. - source: Platts

Scrap

• Turkey, import; 22,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (75:25), 11,000 tonnes of P&S, 5,000 tonnes of shredded, 2,000 tonnes of busheling, average price $226 per tonne cfr; July 26, from Europe. - source: Steel First

 

Semis

• Platts assessed its daily billet price at $320/mt FOB Black Sea on Wednseday, stable on day. - source: Platts

 

• Steel First’s billet import price assessment for the region was $315-325 per tonne cfr for the week ending Monday July 25, down by $10-15 from the preceding week’s $330-335 per tonne cfr.  Deals were done at $315-320 per tonne cfr in both Indonesia and Thailand, and as low as $325 per tonne cfr Manila in the Philippines. - source: Steel First

Bar/ Wire rod

• Wire rod bookings were heard made as low as $340-345 per tonne cfr in the Philippines late last week and on Monday, which would translate to as low as $325-330 per tonne fob China. - source: Steel First

 

• On July 27, Platts assessed 6.5mm diameter mesh-quality rod at $339-341/metric ton FOB, up $15/mt from a week earlier. - source: Platts

  

 

HRC/P

• Hot rolled coil prices for export from the CIS have stabilised at $360/metric ton FOB Black Sea paid for Ukrainian coils and Russian equivalents sold for $370/mt.  - source: Platts

 

• An Indian mill is offering $390/mt CFR Vietnam for SAE coil, another Vietnamese trader indicated. Mills from Japan and Taiwan have offered the same grade coil at $425/mt and $400/mt CFR Vietnam respectively. - source: Platts

 

• Turkish mills’ HRC offers in the domestic market were in the range of $420-430/mt ex-works this week, while discounts were also still available, depending upon payment terms and volumes, sources said. Turkish mills’ export offers, meanwhile, softened further to $400-410/mt FOB, while some mills began to offer HRC to some export markets below the $400/mt level. - source: Platts
